Tiburon Transit Needs Assessment

In partnership with the Town of Tiburon and the City of Belvedere, Marin Transit is conducting a Tiburon Transit Needs Assessment to evaluate existing services within the Tiburon Peninsula, identify new and emerging mobility needs that fall outside the current transit service options, and craft practical strategies for meeting these needs. Make your reservations now for the ABC’s of Senior Transportation! On Wed. March 21, 2012 from 9:00- Noon the various transportation providers in Marin will gather to talk about the services they have for seniors at the San Rafael Community Center, 618 B Street. Find out about bus services, paratransit, volunteer transportation, taxi and more! The DMV will be there to talk about older driver safety. Learn about the new Marin Access Mobility Management Center and the new, Measure B-funded transportation services that are in the works!
The ABCs of Senior Transportation is free and open to all Marin seniors, and reservations are required. To reserve your spot call: San Rafael Goldenaires at 415-485-3348. This event is sponsored by the San Rafael Goldenaires and Marin Transit.

New! Volunteer Driver Program for Seniors

Marin Transit is pleased to announce two new Volunteer Driver Programs for seniors in Marin County. These programs are designed to provide individualized transportation for seniors who have difficulty riding fixed route or paratransit services. Funding for these new programs was obtained by Marin Transit from a grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's New Freedom Program. Marin Access Mobility Management Center Now Open!

The Marin Access Mobility Management Center is a one-call, transportation information and referral service, focused on meeting the mobility needs of Marin's older adults, persons with disabilities and low-income residents.
Marin Access features telephone and on-line information and referral to the various transportation options available in Marin - public, non-profit, and for-profit. This service helps riders identify which type of transportation will best meet their needs. Call Marin Access at 415-454-0902 or go to the Marin Access website, www.marinaccess.org to use the searchable database of transportation providers.
Over the coming months, Marin Access will be adding more services, including: pre-paid rider accounts, expanded education and outreach, a donated vehicle program, and expanded coordination of transportation services.
The Marin Access Mobility Management Center is a service of Marin Transit, and is advised by the Marin Mobility Consortium.
New Marin Transit Passes
July 1, 2009
On Monday, July 1, 2009, Marin Transit launched new 1 Day, 7 Day, and 31 Day passes. These passes are good on all Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit routes within Marin County. Day passes can be purchased on the vehicles while 7 Day and 31 Day passes are available on line, over the phone or at local venders.
