Service Reductions Go Into Effect Sunday: March 14

Marin Transit service reductions go into effect on Sunday, March 14, 2010. These reductions and schedule changes may impact many people; therefore we recommend you look at the final schedules to plan your trip in advance. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide trip planning assistance at the San Rafael Transit Center on March 11, 12, and 15. Contact Marin Transit if you have additional questions and/or comments.

Novato Bus Stop Improvements Public Meeting
February 2, 2010
Marin Transit is in the process of improving bus patron access and transfers in Novato. A Public Meeting will be held February 9, at 6:30 to review the prelimnary design and gather comments.

March 2010 Service Reductions Approved

The Marin Transit Board voted to approve the revised March 2010 Service Reductions at the Public Hearing on November 16, 2009. These reductions will go into effect mid-March 2010. Thanks to those who submitted their comments, concerns, and suggestions.

New Marin Transit Passes
July 1, 2009
On Monday, July 1, 2009, Marin Transit launched new 1 Day, 7 Day, and 31 Day passes. These passes are good on all Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit routes within Marin County. Day passes can be purchased on the vehicles while 7 Day and 31 Day passes are available on line, over the phone or at local venders.

Roadwork Scheduled on Sir Francis Drake: Expect Delays
March 12, 2010
The Sir Francis Drake Resurfacing project will start on Monday, March 14 and will continue throughout the months of March and April. The project limits are from June Court to the western town limits of Fairfax. Delays are expected: riders on Marin Transit routes 23, 29 and 68 should plan accordingly.

Stagecoach Seasonal Service Resumes March 14, 2010

The Stagecoach South Route 61 will resume running additional trips beginning Sunday, March 14, 2010 on weekends and holidays.

Elimination of $25, $50, and $75 Value Cards
March 2, 2010
Effective June 30, 2010, Golden Gate Transit will be eliminating $25, $50, and $75 Value Cards. These Value Cards will be accepted through July 31, 2010. After that time, customers must use TransLink® to receive the discounted fare. Marin Local Value Cards ($18 and $36) and Marin Local Period Passes (7-Day and 31-Day Passes) will still be available for travel within Marin County.

New Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Passes Available
June 25, 2009
Marin Transit introduced new 1-Day, Weekly (7-Day), and Monthly (31-Day) discount passes July 1, 2009. The Day Passes are issued from the fareboxes on-board the buses, and the 7-Day and 31-Day Passes are sold at several local vendors.

Supplemental School Service Route Numbers

Starting in June 2009, the follow route numbers are changing: 107 to 17, 115 to 19, 123 to 23, 143 to 17, 145 to 45 and 153 to 51. All service is unchanged.

Muir Beach Dial-A-Ride Service Ends June 30, 2009

Due to limited funding and low usage, the Muir Beach Dial-A-Ride service will end June 30, 2009. We apologize for the inconvenience this creates for current users. Marin Transit encourages residents and visitors to Muir Beach to form carrpools and work with us to explore other transportation alternatives.
