SHORT RANGE TRANSIT PLAN

We are currently working on the 2008-09 Short Range Transit Plan. The document will include Marin Transit's updated operating, capital, finacial, and marketing plans. An on board passenger survey was conducted in October and November 2008 to provide data for the plan.

Improving transit in Marin County is an ongoing process and Marin Transit encourages you to continue to provide feedback. As required by Measure A, this plan will be updated every two years.

The Transit Board adopted the 2006 Short Range Transit Plan at a Public Hearing on March 20, 2006. The Short Range Transit Plan is the first transit plan that is entirely focused on local transit within Marin County. The draft plan includes a complete assessment of the current system and its riders, as well as an identification of transit needs in Marin County and alternative ways to meet those needs. The goal of the plan is to develop a financially sustainable transit system for Marin County riders that maximizes productivity and mobility for everyone who travels within the County.
