SERVICES: SENIOR & ADA: TRAVEL TRAINING
"How Seniors Get Around in Marin: is a free, one-hour, 3-part program that features presentations and discussion about older driver safety and alternatives to driving, including riding the bus and using the Marin Access Paratransit Service. The older driver safety presentation is given by the DMV's Senior Driver Ombudsman for the bay Area and includes a video about driving from the perspective of seniors. A Marin Transit representative will talk about riding the bus in Marin and show how to plan a trip on the bus. Next, a Whistlestop representative will present information on the Marin Access Paratransit Service, including how to become eligible and how to use the service. The presenters also discuss other transportation options, such as the volunteer driver programs. Questions and discussions from the audience are encouraged and the presenters will stay after the program to discuss individual situations. Participants who complete a short survey will be rewarded with a complimentary bus ticket.
If you would like to host a "How Seniors Get Around" presentation, please contact Paul Branson at Marin Transit, 415-226-0863, email: firstname.lastname@example.org. As host, you would be responsible for assembling a minimum of 15 participants, providing a room for the presentation, and ideally, providing light refreshments.
